My name is Karin Clark. Iβm the founder and owner of Karma Clothing. We design and manufacture ladies and gents corporate wear, uniforms, and clothing. We are based in South Africa, our manufacturing plant is based in Johannesburg, but we have various small satellite offices in the country and one in Africa. I have a fairly large company. We have just over 100 staff and we supply to all of South African exports to about eight countries in Africa.

What was the main business challenge you tried to resolve?
It was basically my e-commerce platform updating and giving our website a new more on-trend look and personality. It wasn't really just an update. We wanted a whole new look to it.
Did you manage to solve your challenge and how?
Well together with Woww we managed to solve, improve and increase it in terms of our SEO, our Google analytics and our online e-commerce. It obviously improved from what it was previously.
Why did you decide to do business with Woww?
When I first met with them back when we were meeting physically and personally, I enjoyed their outlook in terms of what was the opportunities and the capabilities that were open to us. They were very forward thinking in that manner. It's a very young and dynamic company.
Strengths
What was unique/special about Woww?
What was unique about them was their understanding: nothing is boxed! So I wasn't just given a template in terms of how to upgrade or improve what I was needing to do. They are pretty much customized it according to my industry, my needs, where we were having challenges already. They listened and they customized it according to that. They performed very well across the board. We still obviously have a working relationship and theyβve gotten to know our business better. They customize according to that and assist us in that manner.
What did you like in dealing with Woww?
They're very good in terms of getting back to you as a client. They are very proactive in terms of if there is an issue or and we are having a problem IT-based, they do get that sorted out extremely quickly. I've never had to wait very long. It's just what I've gotten become familiar with Woww. They are very much on the ground and making things happen.
What's great is that if I can't get hold of one particular person. I do have two or three others that I can get hold of, so I'm not reliant on one person. Garnett has been extremely helpful, but I've worked with quite a few of them and I've not had a major issue with any one of them. They've always all been very forthcoming and been of great assistance.
Areas to Improve
Did you miss anything in what Woww provided to you?
To date to be honest, no, I haven't missed anything. It's not my field of expertise, so very possibly if there was someone else who knew more about this industry, they may say that there was things missing. But as far as my needs and my requirements, I have not missed anything. Everything worked very well, that's why we still working together.
Where could Woow improve and/or do better in the future?
As far as I'm concerned, what they did for me was very good and it continues to improve as our working relationship progresses and as you get to know one another better. I wouldn't feel right or fair in saying where they could improve. We all improve daily.
Recommendations to others
What are your learnings from resolving your business challenge?
I guess patience and understanding the other party's own challenges as well. Not everything always runs according to plan, but as long as you get to the end results, you've got to focus on the end goal and not the steps along the way. Because not everything runs according to plan for either party. These are working relationships, meaning you're both learning from one another and no one, no party either knows everything. But the one party is there to guide the other party in what they're not familiar with so they've just got to do it in the best way that they can. In the same way, when clients come to us and it's not their field of expertise, we do our best to guide them. But we've also got to understand and be patient with their non-knowledge or not understanding of the industry.
Project Spend
We work together with Woww on a monthly retainer, which works well for our business, so the expenditure in terms of cash flow has been great because they assist clients, understanding that these projects usually can be financially draining. They are very open to assisting you with the best way of making it happen, but it not being a financial burden.
